Kettlebells buyer’s guide

Are you planning to get your new kettlebell?  The first consideration is to determine its durability, value and safety. How will the piece be able to stand all the stress given by the training? How much forearm bruising percentage can you expect when you use such particular kind of kettlebell? How much does it cost—these questions should be answered first before anything else.

Actually, when it comes to the kind of kettlebell, it is highly difficult to say which one will work well for an individual since there is no exact science about this. Everything will just revolve around one’s experience and ability to make a lift.

As a rule of thumb, any beginner should begin using a 16 kg bell while those people who had already been training for quite long should opt for 24 kg bell. Actually, the 24 kg is known as the standard weight for any Russian military units. This does not simply connote that everyone can carry on such weight but almost all of them will be able to do so the moment when they get discharged.

There are even people who could train using 32 kg kettle bell; this is enormously heavy although there are men who would take this weight easily. If you are among those who can carry a 32 kg bell easily then you’re probably a strong person.

That said, it is up to you to decide which weight will match your strength but it is important to remember not to force yourself to carry something which is beyond your ability because it will only lead to a possible pulls and strains. When it comes to the brand of the kettlebell, you can shop around for ideas and information online.

If you have an Academy in your area, you can buy a set there.  That’s where I got my 25 pound kettlebell for about $55.  You save on shipping and handling.  If you must buy a kettlebell online, you can shop at DragonDoor.com or check out ebay:
