Kettlebells buyer’s guide

Are you planning to get your new kettlebell?  The first consideration is to determine its durability, value and safety. How will the piece be able to stand all the stress given by the training? How much forearm bruising percentage can you expect when you use such particular kind of kettlebell? How much does it cost—these questions should be answered first before anything else.

Actually, when it comes to the kind of kettlebell, it is highly difficult to say which one will work well for an individual since there is no exact science about this. Everything will just revolve around one’s experience and ability to make a lift.

As a rule of thumb, any beginner should begin using a 16 kg bell while those people who had already been training for quite long should opt for 24 kg bell. Actually, the 24 kg is known as the standard weight for any Russian military units. This does not simply connote that everyone can carry on such weight but almost all of them will be able to do so the moment when they get discharged.

There are even people who could train using 32 kg kettle bell; this is enormously heavy although there are men who would take this weight easily. If you are among those who can carry a 32 kg bell easily then you’re probably a strong person.

That said, it is up to you to decide which weight will match your strength but it is important to remember not to force yourself to carry something which is beyond your ability because it will only lead to a possible pulls and strains. When it comes to the brand of the kettlebell, you can shop around for ideas and information online.

If you have an Academy in your area, you can buy a set there.  That’s where I got my 25 pound kettlebell for about $55.  You save on shipping and handling.  If you must buy a kettlebell online, you can shop at DragonDoor.com or check out ebay:

Why you need to try Russian kettlebell training

Why use a kettle bell? Because it has an array of benefits that can help you shape up and lead a healthy lifestyle—all at a minimum price and in the convenience of your own house!

A Kettlebell, which origated in Russia, is a traditional cast iron weight looking somewhat like a cannonball with a handle. Kettlebells come in several sizes from 10 to 106 lbs. Including or doing kettle bell workouts has tremendous advantageous impacts since they deliver extreme all-round fitness. And no single other tool does it better. It can even replace the traditional barbells, dumbbells, belts for weighted pullups and dips, thick bars, lever bars, medicine balls, grip devices, and cardio equipment.

Benefits such as improved flexibility, better cardio and core condition, weight loss and strength development are some salient benefits which are attributed to kettlebell training. Indeed, it promotes overall health and wellness. What’s more? It also facilitates the anti-aging process since you are in prime condition. Plus, kettlebells will give you infinite freedom of lifting and at the same time give muscles, ligament and tendons strength and definition. It also aids in facilitating balance leaving you graceful and centered.

However, don’t be intimidated of the long list of benefits kettlebelling has to offer. Kettle bell training is extreme yet it is not niche. Case in point, at the 1995 Russian Championship the youngest contestant was 16, the oldest 53! And we are talking elite competition here; the range is even wider if you are training for yourself rather than for the gold. Dr. Krayevskiy, the father of the kettlebell sport, took up training at the age of forty-one and twenty years later he was said to look fresher and healthier than at forty. Men and women from all walks of life can engage in kettle bell training.

Convenience is also a positive factor of using kettle bells. You can do kettlebelling whenever you feel like it or if the health buff mood hits you right right in your homes. Storage is hassle free and takes up little space. Hence, you do not have to go through the hassle of attending classes or going to commercial gyms for sessions. Extra cash-outs is avoided.

Check out and try kettle bells for yourself. It did not earn its distinction of being “The ultimate tool for extreme all-round fitness” for nothing.
