I’m a 5’11″ 274 pound man and I’m about to purchase some kettlebells. What size should I start with?

My size description is a little misleading. I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs in muscle. However, kettlebells are relatively expensive and I want to get the right weight. Not too heavy or light. Please recommend.

As a general rule I would suggest most men could start with and handle a 16g kettlebell. I am assuming that you are not extremely weak due to your bodyweight. A 16kg would definitely give you the ability to get a good cardio workout as well as some strength work. I purchased a 24kg first off and found it quite heavy as it’s a different thing completely to a 24kg dumbbell, but managed to build up to it. This is with a background in strength training.

Not sure where you’re fro but if in UK try Tvdeals.tv for a bargain kettlebell
