Dizzy while Working Out?
For the last couple of years I've been fairly inactive. I finally got frustrated with myself and bought a membership at a local gym. I also hired a personal trainer to help me obtain my goals.
I've had a couple cardio workouts, I've sweated, and felt exhausted but nothing too bad.
I've also had two weight workouts, the first was kettlebell, I lasted about 20 minutes before getting dizzy. The second was just body weight (chin ups, dips, push ups, pull ups etc. . ), I lasted about 30-40 mins before getting dizzy.
When the dizziness comes up I get lightheaded, sometimes little spots come across my eyes. It's usually followed by light nausea and then I just end up feeling sick as hell.
I eat a about 30-60 minutes before the workout. Typically I eat:
1 cup of Oatmeal Crisp
1/2 cup of Granola
1/2 cup of fruit yogurt
1 piece of fruit
I also hydrate regularly, though probably not enough. While working out I typically go through 500-1000mL of water.
Any ideas. . . . I need to make these workouts more intense, and I can't do that if I want to feint.
from what it looks like you're not eating nearly enough before. being hungry can have surprising effects on the body up to and including dizziness and fainting. Eat more and drink more. If that doesn't help go see a doctor, there might be an underlying physical problem.

Since you said you're relatively new to the exercise, it may be your body simply adjusting to the new workout. Your heart works harder, pushing more blood into the brain. If it's more blood than your head's used to, you get lightheaded, sick, and see spots.
You should also be eating at least 1 hour before a workout, not as little as 30 minutes. This will give your body more time to digest your food, and give you a little bit more of a boost when you do exercise.

You need some protein and complex carbs in your system to sustain you through your workouts. Buy some Carbo Pro and some Muscle Milk and mix yourself a shake with these two products before your workout and you'll feel a lot better.
